Canon PIXMA MG6320 Driver Download– Canon’s new Pixma MG6320 raises the bar for printer design. It’s much easier to use than its predecessor, has automatic duplex printing, and produces great output. Ink costs for some cartridges are higher than average.

While still sporting Canon’s familiar, slanted silhouette, the new design and controls put its predecessor, the Pixma MG6320, to shame in terms of ease of use. The six-ink printing system provides good color quality, but ink costs slightly more than average.

Setting up the Pixma MG6320 is easy on Windows PC and Mac OS platforms, although you must manually add the printer. The unit uses USB, Wi-Fi, and Ethernet in almost any network environment.

Canon provides a robust software bundle for this printer, scanner, and copier combination, including scanning software and a suite of Web-based and e-mail printing options that are now standard. The driver is also top-notch.

Missing from the Pixma MG6320 are the three “action” buttons found on some previous models, whose functions can overlap with the OK button.

You can now operate the Pixma MG6320 using the contextually lit controls and 3.5-inch touchscreen without constantly having to reach for those redundant buttons – a much more efficient and intuitive experience. It’s also easier to access the ink: you flip the top front panel over, not the entire top of the unit like most multifunctions.

Loading paper is easy with the front slide-out trays: the main tray is 125-sheet, letter/legal, and located above it is the 20-sheet photo tray (maximum media size is four by 6 inches).

Gone is the rear vertical feed of previous models, which reduced total paper capacity but allowed the printer to curl up against a wall, saving space. Also, instead of a door that folds open for output, the entire front of the unit folds down, and the paper stop automatically extends.

This open space also reveals a Secure Digital/Memory Stick card slot and a Compact Flash unit. Duplex printing is automatic, but the flatbed letter/A4 scanner does not have an automatic document feeder (ADF) for longer documents. Telescopic cap scanner to accommodate thicker materials.

The Pixma MG6320 uses a six instead of four ink system: cyan, magenta, yellow and black, plus photo black and photo gray. Using standard supplies, black pages cost 5 cents per page, but other colors are more expensive than average.

A page with plain cyan, magenta, yellow, and black already costs 16.6 CPP; adding a black photo and a gray photo raises the cost to 19.2 cents. The high-yield inks offer savings–4.6 cents per page for black, 12.7 cents for four colors, and 13.6 cents for all six colors—but are slightly more expensive than the high-yield supplies of other products we’ve tested.

The black output produced by the Pixma MG6320 is dark and sharp at default settings and even sharper at the best-quality settings. The color output looks orange on plain paper but is clear and accurate, if a bit cool, on Canon’s photo paper. Copies and scans are good too.

The performance of the Pixma MG6320 is quite good for a multifunctional artistic mind. In our tests, monochrome pages printed faster than an average of 8.4 pages per minute (ppm) on PCs and 7.7 ppm on Macs.

Average photo speed: snapshot-size (4-by-6-inch) photos print at 2.7 ppm for plain paper and more than one per minute for glossy stock photos. A full-page photo printed on a Mac comes out at around 0.6 ppm. Both copy and scan times are very fast compared to the average.

Canon has done a very good job updating the design of the Pixma MG series, making the Pixma MG6320 much easier to use than previous generations.

Print speed and quality are also very good, but ink prices are slightly higher than average. The HP Photosmart 7520 e-All-in-One costs the same but includes an ADF if needed, and ink is cheaper.
